We began this project by sketching patterns and drawing lines in place of thread. This allowed us to practice following a pattern, make mistakes and learn from them. When we were confident with pencil and paper designs we punched a pattern in card with a thumb tac and threaded a needle with our choice of colour. Threading the needle seemed to be one of the hardest parts of the process! We began with simple designs and worked towards more complicated ones. As the designs became more complicated we were able toad different colours too. Soon the hammers and nails will be out!
